Hey, everyone! This week I am writing from Washington, D.C., where Ive been invited to be a part of the 21st Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards! This event recognizes all of the incredible Hispanics who have made an impact in the Latino community.
The Heritage Awards also recognize a group of outstanding young adults who received Youth Awards. These eight teens are an inspiration to us all! Their achievements go far beyond their high grades in the classroom. I am honored to call them my role models!!!

This year I was blessed to present the Youth Awards alongside Wilmer Valderrama! He is such a humble man, who never forgets where he came from. Apart from that, hes really easy to talk to. He calls me his little sister. He is also an incredible role model, which is why he received the first-ever Hispanic Heritage Foundation INSPIRA Award!
After the awards ceremony, everyone was invited to a movie premiere! The movie was called Love in the Time of Cholera, which is about a man who waits 50 years for the love of his life to fall in love with him. This movie received a Hispanic Heritage Award too.
All in all, the whole night was full of excitement! I've been attending the awards for the past two years, so it was wonderful to see my Hispanic Heritage Foundation Family again in D.C. I wish you could have all been there to share the experience with me.
