What Family Means to Actress Shelbie Bruce

Hi, everybody! I'm here this week to take you into my world and tell you how important family is to me.

My family is everything to me! My parents and my brother, Robby, are incredibly supportive with everything I do. As for the rest of my family (grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.), they all live in the South and I rarely get to see them. But that doesn't stop me from loving them, and they are always very supportive of my brother and me. (That's us in the pic - we're dressed up for a fund-raiser for children with AIDS). I wouldn't trade my family for anything.

When it comes to me turning 15, I think my mom has been the most excited. We've talked a lot about my party, about school, and about growing up. "It's not going to be easy, but with the help of God, you will get through it," my mom says. And she's right. Good communication with all my family gives me the confidence and courage to stay positive and continue to follow my dreams as an actress. This can also work for you. With a strong commitment to whatever you are doing, a supportive family, and faith, you can get through it all and have a terrific 15th year!

So remember to keep your family close because they will help you through all the excitement of turning 15. It's an adventure!
