Ready for High School?

Leer en españolread

Hi ya’ll. It’s Shelbie! I’m here this week to take you into My World on what it’s like to turn 15 and start high school. We just met with our school coordinator and the first thing that came out of her mouth was, “We need to talk about Shelbie’s preparation for college.” Holy cow!! I am four years from college and every other word that came out of her mouth was “college.” It was all really confusing. And I had no idea what class credits even were.

Luckily, my dad deals with sending kids off to college every year at his school. I am starting to understand a little, but I am so nervous. Especially since the responsibility level is growing. It’s sort of hard to keep my head from falling off. And even though my mom says it’s normal to feel that way, I think it’s a little weird that she thinks it’s normal to be running around like a chicken without a head.

Now it’s your turn! What are your feelings on this topic? I want to hear from you. Plus, I know that some of you might have already started the school year. So I would also like to hear your thoughts and maybe some tips. Were you as nervous as I am when you started high school? It would surely make it a lot easier on those of us who haven’t started yet! After all, we’re in this together.
