- The Dress Code: Ideally, your guests should be dressed in comfortable clothes, such as hats, jackets, jeans, chains, rings, gold and diamond earrings, etc.
- The Room: The best way to decorate is to mimic a main street. Put up paper that looks like a brick wall and let your guests paint it with graffiti from your favorite city. This mural will be a memorable backdrop and a great keepsake from your party. Also, you can rent a disco ball, party lights, fog machines, and a DJ console. Gray cushions will enhance the grunge décor.
- Activities:
1) Set up a basketball net somewhere, so that your friends can practice their shots, as well as an air hockey table. Then, organize a competition!
2) Others might prefer karaoke. Practice mixing with the DJ, and organize a competition for the best music mixer. The prize could be a certificate for a free music lesson.
3) Get crafty making your own printed T-shirts. Its easy: All you need is fabric dye, rubber bands, and white T-shirts (pillowcases and bandannas also work). Take the T-shirt and tie it in knots, then dip the garment in different color dyes to achieve a tie-dye effect. You can also iron cool print designs onto T-shirts, and add fabric paint to make bold, vibrant designs.
- Food: This is your opportunity to have fun with a menu! Ask for pizzas, tacos, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc., and arrange them in an amusing way on the tables. Instead of placing flowers on the tables, youd do much better using CDs as centerpieces. Or, choose your favorite artist and place photos of him/her on both the buffet and guest tables.
- Favors: Music CDs or music store gift certificates always rock. Or, give your guests a new accessory that copies the style of your favorite hip-hop artists, like a cap or some fake bling.
