STEP 1: Foundation and Concealer
WHAT AMERICA WORE: A mix of NARS Balanced Foundation in Figi (for light-medium complexions) or Barcelona (for medium complexions), and NARS concealer
HOW TO APPLY: Use a brush to apply foundation where necessary, and then blend with fingers. Apply NARS concealer under eyes where necessary. Use foundation and concealer sparingly to keep a natural look.
STEP 2: Cheekbones
WHAT AMERICA WORE: NARS Bronzing Power in Casino (dark brown)
HOW TO APPLY: Using a brush with chiseled sides, apply the bronzing powder right underneath your cheekbone, toward your temples. Get rid of any harsh lines by blending powder into skin with a bigger brush, to create a shadowing effect.
STEP 3: Cheeks
WHAT AMERICA WORE: NARS Multiple Stick in Portofino (coral), NARS translucent powder, NARS Blush Orgasm (peachy pink)
HOW TO APPLY: Apply creamy multipurpose stick to the apples of the cheeks for a sheer, natural finish. Brush on a touch of translucent powder for extra staying power. Apply blush for a touch of color.
STEP 4: Eyes
WHAT AMERICA WORE: NARS Multiple Stick in Copacabana (pearl), NARS All About Eve Duo Palette (two flesh-toned neutrals), NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Iceberg (white), NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Moon Black (black), NARS Mascara in Black Orchid (black)
HOW TO APPLY: Apply the multipurpose stick, or some sort of eyeshadow base, all over the eyelid. Use the rosier neutral eyeshadow shade all over the eye and under the bottom lashes. Line the inside of the eye with a white pencil; it’ll make them look bigger. Line the upper lid only with black eye pencil. Curl lashes and apply several coats of black mascara to complete the well-defined eye.
STEP 5: Eyebrows
WHAT AMERICA WORE: NARS Ipanema Brown Pencil (ash brown)
HOW TO APPLY: Pick a shade that’s very close to your natural eyebrow color. Fill in missing areas and blend into brow lightly with an angled eyebrow brush.
STEP 6: Lips
WHAT AMERICA WORE: NARS SemiMatte Lipstick in Scarlett Empress (a blue-red shade, which suits darker skin and hair)
HOW TO APPLY: Apply lip liner that matches your lipstick to prevent the color from bleeding. Apply lipstick straight from the tube, blot with a tissue, and then lightly apply a second coat.
