Get ready to feel like a celebrity! We tracked down Ken Paves, hairstylist to Hollywoods hottest stars, to share his secrets with you. He gave Jennifer Lopez her stunning look at the Oscars and made Eva Longoria more stunning than ever on her wedding day. Here are his tips for your big day!
The style of your hair should match the style of your dress, and it should feel natural to you. Dont go so different that people dont recognize you, Paves says.
You can wear your hair down. I used mini barrettes for Eva Longorias wedding, which still kept it off her shoulders.
When in doubt, a ponytail always looks good, off the face and polished, Paves says. Make sure its a low ponytail, which is chic and still feminine, or you can also wrap it into a bun.
Dont be afraid to use extensions. They give you the amount of hair you need. This can give you the flexibility to do whatever hairstyle you want.
When using hair accessories, go for timeless and classic elements like brooches, combs, flowers, or ribbons. Ribbon adds an element of party, Paves says, and rhinestones add flair. Accessories are about personalizing the look.
Try wearing your hair half up. It has a princess feel to it. Its definitely a fairy-tale look.
Half up or a chignon works well with textured hair, just be sure to keep it off your face.
Short hair can look elegant with a deep side part or a finger wave. You can also curl it or add a headband for extra flair.
Regardless of the look you choose, be sure to use products that have extra hold and shine, giving your hair a polished look that will last during church and after hours of dancing.
